They include state lemon laws (sometimes referred to as warranty laws) that show differences as you move from one state to another, the Federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and Uniform Commercial Code (UCC). If your state lemon law does not cover your case, you can safeguard your rights by going to the latter two.

Now let's have a closer look at these laws. A state lemon law is legislation that applies to the vehicles with persistent defect(s) and defines in what cases the manufacturer breached the warranty and what the consumer is entitled to if the warranty is breached. Normally, the customer has the right to claim a refund or a new replacement.

The lemon law is effective only if the vehicle comes with an express written warranty and during the warranty period. In most states it covers new cars that have been purchased to be used for family, personal or household purposes. A car bought for business purposes is not covered by the state lemon law, but can be refunded or replaced under the Magnuson-Moss Act or Uniform Commercial Code (UCC).

Usually, when you are reduced to seeking justice, the action that you have to take depends on the state where you bought or registered your vehicle. In some of them, launching a written complaint is enough, while in others you will have to hire an attorney. Anyway, if your car dealer or manufacturer are unable to satisfy your claim, you first go to the arbitration and, if necessary, to court of law to resolve the dispute. And it is a manufacturer, not a car dealer, that you take to court

The Magnuson-Moss Act is a federal lemon law. It is a forebear of all state laws and serves as recourse, when state laws don't help. Its mission is to protect the buyer from manufacturer's breaching warranty. If your attorney chooses to sue under the Magnuson-Moss Act, the manufacturer is to recover your attorney's fees (if you win the case). It refers to the vehicles and other personal property priced $25 and higher purchased "for purposes other than resale". The law was enforced in 1975 and covers the products that were acquired after July 4 that year.

The Magnuson-Moss Act deals with both "full" and "limited" warranties. The case can be taken to court with a valid cause of action even after the warranty has expired as long as the defect appeared in the vehicle during the period of warranty.

And last but not least is Uniform Commercial Code (UCC). This law grants the customer the right to claim a refund or a new vehicle replacement, if the defect(s) present in the car have proved to continue after several attempts ("a reasonable amount of attempts") have been made to repair the inoperable part. The threshold of proof is defined by a particular state law.
When and if you decide to take action against lemon makers, you can study the laws and do it yourself, but it can be wise to hire an attorney, who can do it quicker and more efficient with his fees recovered by the manufacturer.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4608337749940228509.post-15087546840155892392011-08-06T09:47:00.001-07:002011-08-06T09:48:28.056-07:00Porsche Carrera GT<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 204px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-8xpnEItBFVc/Tj1wT_rrj2I/AAAAAAAAAGE/k8LxWdvYSbg/s400/Porsche%2BCarrera%2BGT%2B3.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5637785797352197986" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 225px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-uLliqg-dItg/Tj1wTk9qu2I/AAAAAAAAAF8/6fuyhjoUeTE/s400/Porsche%2BCarrera%2BGT%2B1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5637785790179883874" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 225px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-CuL23vMrd5s/Tj1wTkk132I/AAAAAAAAAF0/46FsR0T2WM8/s400/Porsche%2BCarrera%2BGT4.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5637785790075756386" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 225px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_RCz4HFRh2g/Tj1wTTQKcKI/AAAAAAAAAFs/3DPObhhDndg/s400/Porsche%2BCarrera%2BGT2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5637785785425621154" />
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 187px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-ltlsDJViNoA/Tj1wTNSqtDI/AAAAAAAAAFk/PE-ph9kZIic/s400/Porsche%2BCarrera%2BGT.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5637785783825511474" />Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4608337749940228509.post-66970037914066428792011-03-14T21:06:00.001-07:002011-03-14T21:06:35.293-07:00Bentley Continental Supersports reviewAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4608337749940228509.post-21454973756721774512011-03-14T21:05:00.000-07:002011-03-14T21:05:29.374-07:00Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder supercar reviewAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4608337749940228509.post-4897740191877830672010-12-14T02:44:00.000-08:002010-12-14T02:48:15.729-08:00REVIEWS: Driven: 2011 Lexus LFA<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Dshf8bycf34/TQdK_Vsc--I/AAAAAAAAACg/8kG4bM_A4RY/s320/2011_lexus_lFA.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5550487517773233122" />
Gone are the stickers and the camouflage, the wild spoilers and the additional XXL high-beam lights, the roll cage and the stripped-out interior. The gleaming white wonder posing in pit lane at the Nürburgring Formula 1 circuit looks like a distant relative of the race car that competed in the twenty-four-hour endurance run earlier this year. What we see here - four weeks prior to the official launch at the Tokyo Motor Show - is the first undisguised production car, one of only 500 LFAs to be made, estimated to cost a breathtaking $350,000 to $400,000. This dramatically different Japanese sports car combines high technology with maximum user-friendliness. It is a blend of extreme engineering and exquisite craftsmanship, top-notch performance and easy accessibility, uncompromising driver involvement and total control. There are more powerful and faster sports cars out there, but very few deliver their talents in a more focused and more emotional manner than the new Lexus flagship.

Source - http://www.automobilemag.com/reviews/driven/0912_2011_lexus_lfa/index.htmlAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4608337749940228509.post-81285144494116791672010-12-11T15:44:00.001-08:002010-12-11T15:44:47.545-08:00Hottest cars in MiamiAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4608337749940228509.post-38334109781994636172010-08-01T10:46:00.000-07:002010-08-01T10:47:12.253-07:00Street Legal Ferrari FXX by Edo CompetitionAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4608337749940228509.post-54715079512695957162010-08-01T10:42:00.001-07:002010-08-01T10:42:38.503-07:00Lamborghini LP 710 EDOAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4608337749940228509.post-18587870967237973122010-07-10T22:40:00.000-07:002010-07-10T22:42:22.138-07:00The Honda Supercar, Hsv-010 GtHonda Motor Co. Ltd. has introduced the HSV-010 GT. This is a prototype model which will compete in the GT500 class of the 2010 Super GT Series (Japan GT). Honda had also revealed that the car would be based on the canceled NSX production vehicle. Honda's decision to campaign a non-production vehicle required it to obtain special permission from the Super GT organizers to be exempt from the production homologation requirements for the series. This is good news for Japan GT or Honda motorsports fans who intend to travel in order to witness this year's Japan GT leg at Sepang. They may get to view this car in action.

One other reason why Honda went through so much trouble to race the HSV was the fact that it did not have a competitive car ready to compete in the series. This was due to the fact that in October 2009, Honda had officially announced the end of the mid-engine NSX Super GT's participation in Super GT racing due to new Super GT regulations that allowed the use of only front engine rear drive cars. It also showed the dominance of mid-engined cars in the Japan GT. The NSX super GT first started racing in the Japan GT since the All Japan Grand Touring Championship days of the 1990s and it was still winning races till its retirement; albeit the only similarity between the early models and new ones is the basic shape of the NSX and I believe, nothing else. It has nothing much similar to a road going NSX as I remember sometime in the late 90s an uncle drove an automatic version wearing a sarong and slippers to a family gathering.

Now back to the HSV. The letters ?HSV? stand for Honda Sports Velocity, which is so much better than if it had stood for Honda Service Vehicle. The front/mid-engine racer will have a naturally aspirated 3.4liter V8 making 370 or more worth of horses and about 392nm of torque, sending power through the same Ricardo sequential manual gearbox fitted to the 2010 SuperGT cars from Nissan and Toyota. Underneath all that glorious carbon fiber is the same chassis Honda's been working on (originally as an NSX replacement) for the last two years. It would be enough in a car that weighs around 1100kg as it would give a power to weight ratio of approximately 336bhp/ton. Of course the engine in most GT500 cars have its intake restricted to a certain size to even out the playing field. As a comparison, a 2009 320bhp Subaru Impreza STI would have a power to weight ratio of approximately 237bhp/ton.

At the season opening round at the challenging Suzuka track, the HSV-010 GT?s virgin race will show if it is a worthy successor to the legendary Honda NSX. Other challengers such as Nissan and Lexus will be strong as always, so it will certainly not be easy. Hopefully success on the race track can convince Honda to produce a road going version of the HSV after all.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4608337749940228509.post-44912367232422346862009-06-18T23:28:00.001-07:002009-06-18T23:29:08.425-07:00Lexus LF-A Concept - Millennium's Exotic Super Sports Car

The Lexus LF-A is rated as the millennium’s most exotic concept super sports car, which was unveiled at the 2007 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit.
